Outstanding Young Artists Competition and Small Instrumental Ensembles Competition March 8, 2008

Each spring the Friends of Music holds competitions for Outstanding Young Artist and for Small Instrumental Ensembles. Music students up to the age of 19 (or 20 for vocal students) who reside or study in the Lehigh Valley region are eligible. This season's competition will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008.

Our goal is to motivate and educate both solo and group performers. Thus, all participants of the competitions receive written evaluations from the judges, chosen from area music educators and performers.

The winners of each competition are presented in a formal, public recital (25-minute program by the Young Artist; 25-minute program by the Small Ensemble). The Outstanding Young Artist and the Small Ensemble winner each receive a $500 cash award.
